SUMFLASH
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
This is a translation of the Japanese original. If there is any discrepancy, the Japanese version prevails.
This Privacy Policy describes how the iOS app "Sumflash" (the "App") handles user information.
1. Information we do not collect
- Name, date of birth, gender
- Email address, phone number, postal address
- Contacts, photos, calendars, or other data on your device
- The App requires no account and has no sign-in
2. Information kept only on your device
The following is stored only on your device and is erased when you delete the App. It is never sent to the developer's servers or to third parties, with one exception: if you are signed in to Game Center, only your best ranked-play record is sent to Apple for the leaderboard (see section 4).
| Information | Purpose |
|---|---|
| The level you chose (for each type of arithmetic) | Setting the problems the next time you practice |
| Numbers shown and answers entered, with the date and time, level, and display time (last 200 problems) | The review screen and showing where you tend to slip |
| Days practiced (up to the 400 most recent) | Your streak, and the reminder (whether you've practiced that day) |
| Display time | Keeping your settings |
| Profiles (name, note) | Keeping each family member's records separate |
| Your best ranked-play record | Showing your own best (also used for the Game Center leaderboard if you are signed in) |
| Settings (theme, sound, read aloud, type of arithmetic, reminder on/off and time) | Keeping your settings |
| Number of practice sets finished | Deciding when to ask for an App Store review |
3. Advertising
The App shows ads using Google AdMob, provided by Google LLC. To deliver ads and prevent fraud, Google may collect device information (such as IP address, device type, and information about ad views and interactions).
The App does not use GPS or other location data. To deliver ads, Google may estimate your approximate region from your IP address.
Before the first ad is shown, we ask for permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites through App Tracking Transparency. Only if you allow it may the advertising identifier (IDFA) be used to deliver ads. You can use every feature without allowing it, and you can change this anytime in iPhone Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. No ads are shown while Premium is active.
If you live in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, before the first ad is shown we ask, through Google's consent management tool (User Messaging Platform), for your consent to personalized ads and to storing information on, and reading information from, your device. If you do not consent, we show limited, non-personalized ads. You can change or withdraw your consent anytime in the App under Settings › Privacy Choices (see section 9).
For how Google uses information, see:
4. Game Center (leaderboards)
Only if you are signed in to Game Center, your ranked play record (the fastest display time you cleared) is sent to Apple's Game Center and shown on the leaderboard under your Game Center nickname. Apple handles this information under Apple's Privacy Policy. If you are not signed in, the record stays only on your device.
5. Purchases (Premium)
Premium is purchased, renewed, and canceled through Apple's App Store. The developer does not receive your payment details (such as card numbers). The App checks Apple's purchase information on your device to confirm whether Premium is active.
6. Analytics
The App does not include analytics or crash-reporting SDKs (such as Google Analytics or Firebase).
7. Sharing with third parties
The App does not provide users' personal information to third parties, except where disclosure is required by law.
8. Children's privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under a higher age, if one is set in the country where you live). Profile names and notes are stored only on your device and are never sent anywhere. We recommend using a nickname rather than a real name.
9. For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and Switzerland
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, we provide the following information.
- Controller: Toru Fukui (contact details in section 11). The developer does not receive your personal data. Practice records are handled only on your device (see section 2)
- Advertising: Google processes device information as an independent controller. Personalized ads and storing or reading information on your device are based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Delivering limited, non-personalized ads and preventing fraud are based on Google's legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
- International transfers: Google may transfer information outside Europe under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses
- Withdrawing consent: you can withdraw your consent anytime in the App under Settings › Privacy Choices. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal
- Your rights: you have the right to access, rectify, and erase your personal data, to restrict and object to its processing, and to data portability. For information processed by Google, please contact Google directly. Inquiries to the developer can be sent to the contact in section 11
- You have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority in your country
